Dec 15, 2020 I think it definitely has the chance to be better mtbmb was a step closer to the right direction sound wise and hopefully mtbmb isn't a fluke of him having an ear for better beats with a couple exceptions lol
Dec 15, 2020 "Don't want a woman just to love her assets I still wife her up, even with her flat chest The type to get hurt, but that's the past tense" -Kid Cudi, Man on the Moon Cudi always had good songs.
Dec 15, 2020 Em's such a p---- for not putting the 'too far' s--- on there. Of all albums in particular - that album is supposed to go too far. Because as initially surprising / shocking as it was with him going at people... once the dust settles, what's left isn't very shocking at all; pretty light jabs and some cool worldplay... It needs another 'too far' song or two, or a concept or two, I feel like whatever that song was would have completed the album. Dre's also s--- for talking him out of it.
Dec 15, 2020 yeah. I mean what could of Eminem said that went to far? His debut album cover has his ex wife dead in the trunk of his car. With his daughter standing next to him. Songs like Kim ect. Eminem couldn’t have gone any further than he did in his slim shady days
Dec 15, 2020 You dont want to see him I think we all know Dre used the expression ‘too far’ as a nice, close friend way of saying ‘that’s embarrassing as f--- mate, no chance’
Dec 15, 2020 Exactly. And imagine SSLP or MMLP without the concepts. They're not even the best songs, in terms of... enjoyable to listen to... but they add so much weight, because they're such big ideas, they add a lasting weight to the album.
Dec 15, 2020 Big agree. Its not like he has anything to lose. After the lana del rey and iggy azalea lines from XV era I dont see how they were concerned with some lines going too far like 3-4 years later
Dec 15, 2020 I've literally never heard this. People will always criticize if an album has a few filler songs but Revival EP as a concept is complete bs
Dec 15, 2020 Revival is horrible no matter which way you slice it, what songs you remove... there's a soulless and horrible feeling through all the material. It's like he's going through the motions or something, I never want to listen to any of the songs. I did like "Untouchable" when it dropped though, and still think it's great. And wrongly sh---ed on. Plus "Arose" is an actual masterpiece.
