Mar 26, 2021 I like some drake songs, which isn’t surprisingly given the manufacturing that goes into it from so many people. I definitely don’t give complete credit to drake, he’s the face of something which gets put together behind the scenes. Got plenty of bangers. Just wouldn’t put him alone on a list of top anything.
Mar 26, 2021 He's been around for over 10 years. Must be doing something right if he's still the biggest artist in Hip Hop.
Mar 26, 2021 "In fact it'll be nothin' to throw that lil' b---- with a capital B out the back window" (Marsh)
Mar 26, 2021 I don’t listen to it. You’ll never hear me listening to a drake album. I’m not mad at all. You’re just wrong. How is Drake helping Ross, or Meek? Just because Drake did songs with that doesn’t mean he kept them alive. Durk, and lil baby are doing fine without him, and was doing fine before a drake feature. Crazy thing about all these artist you named is that I don’t like any of them
Mar 26, 2021 Like I said, there’s a lot of people behind the scenes. He’s barely a solo artist. I agree he’s the biggest and been the biggest for a while, but there’s so many people to credit for his success. Em only had Dre, then proved he could stand on his own, writing his own lyrics, making his own beats, paying homage to the culture and other artists. Drake is a puppet.
Mar 26, 2021 Other rappers have teams and they not as succesful. I don't really care how much help he needs, I just expect more bangers from Drake.
Mar 27, 2021 Yep, he will definitely keep putting out bangers. But that’s all he can do, never actually says anything, nothing important or good to say, we don’t really know him, we just know what he’s been told to show us. Other artists who are truly solo have a better balance, we somewhat get to know them through their music. Yes he(they) will keep putting out bangers, yes he(they) will sell a lot, but individually he’s not important. There’s nothing wrong with it, heaps of people do it, but he shouldn’t get as much credit as he does, if anything he should be showing a lot more appreciation for his team tbh.
Mar 27, 2021 An album without a big song comes and goes. That's why they all go to him. Who do you think put Lil Baby on? lol one feat and dude made it. And Durk was never big before working with Drake, he just wasn't on that level.
Mar 27, 2021 Never seen this, it was posted today for some reason. 4 Stans in the 90s/early 2000s searching for Eminem at the airport he wasn't even landing at lol
Mar 27, 2021 I really like Remind Me and Heat from Revival. Much like I enjoy Stepdad, Alfred's Theme, Tone Deaf and Discombobulated. I think there are long term Eminem fans that want a pure Eminem track and then you have the hip hop heads and no disrespect to them.....but they'll listen to anything and praise anything that's rappity rap. I think also that so much time has passed that you have two sets of Eminem fans, the originals who grew up with the Slim Shady LP and then those that grew up with Recovery. That was their version of The Eminem Show. When you look at older concerts you see just how much he actually promoted his albums. Even Recovery, during the shows he did in late 2010/2011, he actually performed many songs from it. WIth Encore songs like Rain Man, Puke, Evil Deeds were performed along with the singles. My Dad's Gone Crazy, Soldier, Drips along with all the singles and for the MMLP and SSLP the majority of the album was performed. NOw I think it is mostly a greatest hits type setlist, similar to a Bon Jovi show and I think that's what his albums are like now. It's a little bit of everything. Much like we don't see Bon Jovi trying to do another Slippery When Wet or Keep The Faith, Eminem isn't trying to outdo the Eminem Show or The Marshall Mathers LP......but he can try and do songs that sound kind of like they are from those albums. Lightning doesn't strike twice. Look at Katy Perry's new album Smile, the same writers and producers that were behind the Teenage Dream album and Katy of course is the singer. It didn't work again. You can't do it again and Katy is the same person now as she was then, that album wasn't filled with anger or about certain life events, it's just fun bubble pop but yet when you bring the same people back to do it again........they can't do it. If there was a real formula to this stuff artists would do it all the time. It's just luck.Artists will try and make it sound more than it is. They will try and make it look like they want to go in a different direction.....a different sound....I'm a changed person now......no. There is no formula. If Katy Perry could produce 10 Teenage Dreams she would. If Eminem could produce 10 Marshall Mathers LPs he would and in their minds their other albums are just as good. Eminem probably did think he would outdo The Marshall Mathers LP with The Eminem Show. Katy Perry probably did think every album since Teenage Dream was going to be better and more successful but it can't be done. Call it what you will but it just worked, for whatever reason, right people, right time, right ideas, right lyrics, right beats and released at the right time and the public embraced it. That doesn't mean they're going to embrace it a 2nd time.
Mar 27, 2021 Katy gives me crazy vibes. She's been acting weird. Em imo had 4 great albums + some good ones + D12 + BME EP and 8 Mile soundtrack. He's a whole different type of artist compared to her.
