Mar 13, 2021 As big of an Eminem fan as I truly am even I don't look at his earlier work as some untouchable work of art by a god lol I feel as if a lot of his newer stuff rivals and is better than his older stuff. I've never had the mentality everyone else seems to have and I've been listening to him since MMLP.

Mar 13, 2021 I would say his music was more consistent and rarely ever missed and even his misses weren't generic like the ones since recovery but I feel like after revival he's been really solid with everything. Before Kamikaze I would've also said that he was sonically better as well but I feel like that's not the case now all in all I'm a fan of both eras but learning more towards post revival to now, old Em is just stale and meh most of the time.
Mar 13, 2021 His voice is very hit or miss now though I find it on songs like tone deaf he tends to try a more high pitch nasally voice which usually doesn't work but feel like his voice is also the best it's been since MMLP2
Mar 13, 2021 I agree his voice back then was incredible (especially on Em Show and Devils Night) but it's not realistic to think his voice should sound the same as it did back then. Em is almost 50. Hes not gonna sound like he did 20 years ago. Also the drug problem really f----- up his voice too. That said I think his voice has improved quite a bit since Revival (which his voice was horrendous on IMO). He sounds confident and chill again which is good.

Mar 14, 2021 ff you listen to the start of Careful What You Wish For there is a Breaking News skit at the start maybe on the original tracklist they were separated? So we could have 12 tracks all in. What surprises me is how short some songs are so I think it could only have been a mixtape.unless some of the other tracks are full songs like Difficult which would push the length to 40+ minutes. I also like how many of the songs we have keep that same vinyl scratching sound we hear at the start of It's Been Real and Everything I Do. It seems like it's meant to flow like a mixtape.

Mar 14, 2021 in those years, some albums had not only a regular, but also a mixtape version. the same the re-up (pre-up), encore and curtis (before after curtis) had a mixtape version. I think we have all these leaked songs from the King Mathers because the DJ who made the mixtape version sold these songs through the darkweb. but maybe Eminem deliberately made this album to sound like a mixtape. in those years, mixtapes were very popular.
