Jan 20, 2021 Yeah least it didn't end in a s-----y manner between them and em also realized what was up but em needs more of that in his camp whether you like his new music or not but don't get it twisted I still like his new s--- lol I don't want that to get misconstrued and turned into an argument
Jan 20, 2021 given the reception of revival it's not so odd. I'm glad though that he didn't do another corona or riot song. That's my personal taste tho
Jan 20, 2021 This is a well worded comment on this vid that I agree with Man that’s gotta feel weird as a music artist when you’ve been sheltered from criticism and when someone does give you criticism and you don’t know how to react to it. That’s not Em’s fault that’s the people around him. Dre should’ve known better. Paul Rosenberg should’ve known better. Everybody around him should’ve known better to give him constructive criticism when he was f---in up. You learn to take criticism better when people are honest with you from the jump.
Jan 20, 2021 We're volatile, I can't call it, though It's like too large a peg, and too small a hole (yeah) But she cheats and I catch her like the common cold (sneeze) Last time I broke her collar bone, she's intolerable (yeah) All I know is that the sex is phenomenal, though We're an unlikely pair (yeah) Like two different Nike Airs But I'm the same size she wears (Jordans) So I think we're soulmates though (yeah) People don't like us together but like we care That's a love song man And the others just have Em doing the hook himself. Or Ed when it comes to Those Kinda Nights. Still the same s--- though. Toxic relationship tracks.
Jan 20, 2021 Revival had bad reception as soon as the tracklist was posted at Em.pro. I thought it looked so bad that it had to be fake, and wondered where 2 Chainz was at. And Untouchable is just unpleasing to hear. Even if the topic is good.
Jan 20, 2021 Things might be way better by then. So I doubt it, he's trying to be up to date with the stuff that's going on.
Jan 20, 2021 Yeah I don’t mind Side B & i really enjoyed Side A, Kamikaze & MMLP2. But when talking about top tier consistent music across the whole length of the project & not just relying on Em’s skills itself to propel the music - he needs outsiders that aren’t yes men, which is tough at his stature.
Jan 20, 2021 I actually gave it the benefit of the doubt when the tracklist came out, I thought surely he’s not that dumb to repeat the formula that everyone was asking for him to never ever repeat lmao Boy was I wrong. Untouchable was a mess but man was it refreshing to hear that topic from Em, brilliant writing too. That’s content. As a lot of you seem to think it’s impossible for Em to achieve.
Jan 20, 2021 The last two minutes is a guilty pleasure of mine. That Rodney Dangerfield line is killer.
Jan 20, 2021 I mean he also has the humor of a ten year old (I personally enjoy it) so I don't think he was taught too much in the way of growth lol but even what I said doesn't make sense cause recovery was a whole album about growth for the most pary so
Jan 20, 2021 Yeah. This was very eye opening for me. Especially part 1 which I listened to also I had no idea Bass brothers were that extra component in making Em’s music have that certain touch and sound (Clap music: Rap, Classic, and R&b .....) Not only that but the writing as well according to him. Or, he just mean production but calls it writing I’m not too sure Either way very telling. I do miss that “Clap music” in Em’s sound. “Beautiful” was the last track they recorded. Interesting too. They worked on “Relapse” then which is the last record people seem to love. Lol. We may need to try and get Bass brothers back with Em
Jan 20, 2021 Did Jeff end up getting to the reason why they stopped working together at all? I watched it about a month ago but I was high so my memory retention was the equivalence of a sieve.
Jan 20, 2021 Something I respected about Em throughout his career was his ability to not only sit in his own lane but still dominate without compromising, he’s losing that edge by conforming to trends. Great music transcends time, trends don’t. I wish artists would learn this.
Jan 20, 2021 Essentially, it sounded like just typical business bs. But, he mentioned, and I never noticed this either, Em never thanked the Bass brothers when he won a Grammy. Which is insane to me after hearing both parts of this interview Plus, his disdain for “Rap god” was interesting too. I think I understand what people are saying in this thread and even some recent criticism. I still enjoy the current music but these two interviews made me remember what that special “It” factor that made me enjoy his music All this time it was the Bass brothers that added that “Umpf” so to speak Not JUST Dre and his great production
