Dec 24, 2020 Ι'm not even tryin to defend at this point, the outcome is already there. I dont care if Em is too soft to take ''a joke'' or anything, I just find it equally hypocritical of mgk to throw sublims beggin for a reply and then capitalize it as much as possible. To me this wasnt even a diss. Nothing new was said there, most of the insults sounded like stuff you ve read before on a board or a comment section. Even the kim line been done before and in a way better way
Dec 24, 2020 A diss isn’t about rhyme scheme, it’s about how scathing the diss is. Story of Adidon doesn’t do anything flashy flow or rhyming wise but the lyrics destroyed Drake. MGK’s didn’t get destroyed, he’s more popular than ever now lol—went on tour with young thug, going down a sort of pop-punk/rap lane. Honestly, Em’s response was disappointing considering his track record. There’s some clever parts like where he interpolates lyrics from Stan, but I’ve always felt that the more juvenile disses bring it down (sorta like how Ether aged poorly cuz it’s just Nas calling Jay Z gay for 5 minutes).
Dec 24, 2020 Also not an MGK fan by any means, I’ve never listened to an MGK album in my life, but this is transparently false. MGK is the biggest he’s ever been, pre Rap Devil he was a corny nobody who only juggalos and Tech Nine fans listened to, post Rap Devil his albums are debuting at #1 and he’s dating Megan Fox. Again you can argue Killshot was a better song or whatever but Em ain’t destroy s---.
Dec 24, 2020 I mean the Kim line was one bar of many that I posted lol. I’m talking about rappers saying this stuff in actual disses on wax, not random internet commenters. Of course random people online have said this stuff lol. But there hadn’t been anyone brave enough to diss him like that until MGK
Dec 24, 2020 Wrong. Post Rap Devil he tried to b--- releasing Binge EP which debuted at #24 with 21k first week in US and fell completely off Billboard 200 in its 3rd chart week. His Hotel Diablo album flopped as well, giving his worst debut week ever in US and MGK himself recently talked about how this album was ignored cuz of Em's beef. Now he's tried to change genre and thanks to bundles, he managed to debut #1.
Dec 24, 2020 Μy point is that the insults were poor, nothing unexpected and nothing that wasnt heard before. I remember the Ja beef, the dude had a line so hard about hailie that we remember it still after all those years. Now the highlight was that he is old and has a weird beard. I mean I only see it as a listener and kinda wanted an Em beef to be more intriguing at least after all those years, it wounldnt change s--- no matter if people argue all day about who won and why. But come on Imagine if in ether nas went after jay sayin ''hov youre the best and pls dont cut me off i need the money'' lol
Dec 24, 2020 Are we srsly debating who won the MGK beef? lmao gtfoh every half decent line MGK had was flipped right back at him and to act like Killshot wasn’t just as scathing “long as I’m shady he’s gonna have to live in my shadow” is 10x harder and more scathing than anything MGK said
Dec 24, 2020 Do I need to post the article again or are you guys really that stupid? #1 he only released one album after the dis. #2 He says himself in his own words that the em beef ruined the reception of the album and that as a result he went a different direction. I will post the article again since there's so many trolls on here.
Dec 24, 2020 Boom! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hi...kelly-admits-eminem-killed-his-rap-career/amp
Dec 24, 2020 The kim line was s--- #1 we all know he wouldn't do it #2 Em murdered him with his reply to that - put him right in his place.
Dec 24, 2020 He dropped an album literally two or three months ago that sold 126k first week and debuted at #1. Keep coping tho.
Dec 24, 2020 First em didn’t have a hissy fit with the mgk. Since you quoted s---. Let’s see Mad about somethin' I said in 2012 Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss (Huh). This isn’t true em dissed mgk because of all the subs, so you can throw that line in the trash. we get it, we know that you're the greatest rapper alive just called this man the greatest rapper a live in a diss yeah I don’t know why you posted that. f---in' dweeb, all you do is read the dictionary and stay inside. Since when reading is a bad thing, and him reading the dictionary is why Eminem can do what he does with words, so I don’t know why you was hype to post these lines. So what he blackballed this n----- from his radio station big deal, and ppl knew about that already. 8 mile treadmill bar was trash and you know it. All them lines you quoted wasn’t scathing at all, and him talking about Kim wow like Eminem gives a f--- about that. Homie
Dec 24, 2020 Subjectivity of the disses aside let’s look at facts Killshot went #3 on half a week of sales, every respected rap critic (not owned by Diddy) gave it to Em, MGK got clowned on social media for weeks. Dude literally switched genres. Not saying his diss was bad, but come on Em destroyed him
Dec 24, 2020 The way you formatted this post is nearly impossible to read and your response to the dictionary line was “since when is reading bad?” which misses the point entirely lol
Dec 24, 2020 It’s an undebatable fact that MGK’s star power has risen significantly after the diss tracks. I’m not saying that’s what CAUSED his star power to rise, just that it’s extremely clear his career didn’t get destroyed lol. This is his peak moment as an artist so far.
