Dec 21, 2020 Probably get s--- on for this but it is what it is lol The Eminem Show Marshall Mathers LP Slim Shady LP Kamikaze Recovery Relapse Marshall Mathers LP 2 Revival Music to be Murdered By Murdered By Side B The topic always come first for me. Revival is relatively high for that reason...I actually really like some of the topics and the way he executed those topics. Yes, "Untouchable" is a guilty pleasure. Sue me. But "Believe"? HOLY s--- I used to bump the h--- out of that track when the album released, one of my favorites, EVER. MMLP2 had a lot of disappointing tracks, but it was a decent piece of music, with some really nice writing. Honestly, I'd put that trio (Recovery, Relapse, and MMLP2) all in the same place, cuz I swear I could make the PERFECT post-hiatus Eminem album from those three albums alone...you know what I mean?
Dec 21, 2020 Yeah what I mean when I'm saying 'rapped' with reference to those hooks is... yeah, shouted, sure, I mean, he used his voice energetically... without trying to sing. Think of 8 Mile Road, Criminal. Those hooks feel huge and make the song. Can you imagine he had some feature singing vs. what he did there. Especially on 'These Demons' - you can't tell me you think that hook fits?

Dec 21, 2020 It's not about trying t sound like his voice. It's about music and art. It's about having a contrast that sounds good and throwing in some variety. Sort of like how a good troll will take on another opinion rather than going with the same one (same voice) Some of his best songs ever have hooks that are not him, so while you have a right to your opinion know that your In a minority there. If everyone thought like you did those songs wouldnt be the hits that they are. I
Dec 21, 2020 I agree about art and contrast. However I don't think that particular contrast sounds good, or works (referring to Side B feat hooks only). An example of a brilliant contrast, done well, I think, is the beat x trumpet x Em's flow on Gnat.

Dec 21, 2020 What's funny about his ranking Is mine is about the same except I got mtbmb at the 4 spot. There are certain people who are really bugged by ems more passive chill flow and the fact that these songs are not suppose to have some big intense meaning but rather just em spitting fire over trendy beats. That really bothers some people for some reason and I don't get it - I think it's a good thing and good for his career. In fact my biggest gripe with the album is I wanted him to not repeat as many themes as he did and kind of hit reset.
