Dec 18, 2020 when i see people talk about how "offensive" ems' first three are i wonder if they've listened to SSLP. Tame compared to MMLP. I don't even think he says fa---- once on that album does he?
Dec 18, 2020 only em albums that aged good are mmlp and relapse tbh... TES was already dated when it was centered on a 2 year old pistol whipping. I could give a f--- about that incident in 2020.... and also the layered vocal and hooks and all scream 'I want to be tupac' but that being said he was still probably his most skilled on the album. SSLP i like a few songs and maybe I've just overplayed but I feel like it's my least revisited. maybe I'll give it a spin today.
Dec 18, 2020 yup @Grimace aka Andys Father sslp has the origin story, the poverty, the raw cartoon violence. the musicialty. mmlp has a weak second half and the anger is so ehhhhhhhhhh after awhile. both tes and mmlp lose points slightly for datedness. the musiciality makes sslp universal

Dec 18, 2020 yeah that's why I made the caveat that I'm OK with MTBMB being above it, I'm not attached to that encore ranking recovery could also be above mmlp2 but both those albums aged extremely poorly to me—there's a little more to like on mmlp2 to me
