This feud is a great example of modern popular rap vs lyrical rap. Yes MGKs diss is more fun, it’s got a catchy beat and fun hook, so it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of the kids like his better. But every single line Em spits is a direct calculated response to what MGK said (which is what a response track to a diss should be, some you forgot that apparently). Em’s classic word play is back at every turn and he changes up his cadence and speed a ton of times (MGK doesn’t). Em doesn’t have a hook...because he doesn’t need one. Hooks take up time on the clock he spends coming back at MGK. Also he doesn’t come as hard as he could’ve, because MGK isn’t worth him coming full force. To all the kids who don’t know Em, who didn’t grow up seeing grainy VHS coverage of him battling...this was him showing mercy. Em’s response was a murder, but if he came back full force...it’d be a massacre. Em won.

Man Rap Devil has no chance as a song with Killshot. Rap Devil was much more simple and thats why it kind of worked, people like it better that way.

Lyrically Killshot is way better, people complain because Em was saying how big he is but hey thats the route to go, show him whos the boss.

I would give him credit if it was due but I’m not willing to s--- him off for doing the bare minimum. I think it’s sad that we have to grade the guy who wrote The Source or Nail in the Coffin on a curve.

I think I consider myself a hater of his new music. Like, I really just don't like it and can't. I like a lot of his old stuff and will go back to it on occasion if I'm in the right mood tho.

At times I feel like a bitter ex.... Eminem was huge when I was growing up. There's such a huge difference between his old music and this stuff. It's annoying.

I had healed from the heartbreak too (didn't listen to Revival front to back) but then everyone was ramping about how good Kamikaze was and it's frustrating because I thought it was total trash. Like I was trying to be optimistic and see what a lot of others were lol

Yeah thing is, it's a somewhat effortless diss reply as that's what it needed to be. The Warning and other s--- had some real beef to it. Em said himself he dissed him over petty stuff so I feel he doesn't need to come in that strong

Well...he actually responded when I thought he wouldn’t so there’s that. There are moments where I think he sounds alright but that stupid choppy flow he uses really hinders this. From a content stand point, I think he did decent. Him failing to use MGK’s heroin addiction here is such a missed opportunity... like how did he miss that? The whole painting MGK as a Stan was cool though I guess. I’d probably like this a lot more if it was executed better but like I said, that stupid choppy flow lw ruins this. MGK’s diss is is better almost purely because it sounds better, not even necessarily because of the content.
