Hollow sounds 10 times better than Eminem with acapella. c'mon man.

This is like saying that battle rappers make great songs, because majority wise they just don't.

That's why most studio rappers can't battle, and most battle rappers can't make good studio songs. It's the writing format and presentation. And Hollow is a great battle rap performer.

Em ISNT EVEN PERFORMING IN FRONT OF A CROWD. And he's randomly stomping and swinging to enhance his bars but it looks SUPER weird.

Like its ok, it's one freestyle. Em just dropped a good/great album so it's not as big of a deal as it would've been if he had done it after Revival.

And...I totally get why he did this. He went with the acapella style to try to mimic battle rap for Bodied to promote the movie.

But Em has been doing this for years and he just doesn't do it correctly or engaging. It's why most battle rap fans clown him (me and @Koolo are big battle rap fans, for example).

I would love for Eminem to bring shine to the battle rap culture because it's fun, but him mimicking it in an awkward way isn't it.

By the way, to whoever quoted me and said Em was brought up battling, you're right, but that's when they ran beats in the background. They changed the presentation to acapella like 7-8 years after Eminem stopped battling. Stop acting like it's the same thing.

Back in the 90s you weren't supposed to battle with writtens (most, including Eminem, would though, but mixed it with freestyle lines to seem authentic)...

But since the mid 2000s, it's expected to write your material and treat a battle like a performance.

Yeah, it was. I didn't like that new freestyle, overall too much corny lines and his delivery was off. But who cares. Bodied was just released, so he probably thought, that it's the right time to release a freestyle, too. But I'm very confident, that new music with great delivery and flow from him will be released in the next 3-4 months.

I think the thing is majority of people just prefer a beat behind a freestyle. It just helps with the ryhthm of the lyrics and it' easier to follow with a melody. I think a acapella freestyle is really niche in terms of those who enjoy them. Only pure lyricists will enjoy them which is not going to be many people. Just look at that Tim Westwood freestyle. That s--- was 10/10.

I don't like this freestyle at all. If he wanted to scrap Revival-era recorded soundtrack because he felt insecure about it, this woman-hating piece of trash (not related to battle rap at all) is far, far worse. BUT why the f--- people are acting as if he didn't release Killshot after Kamikaze? He is still in top form.,Kami wasn't an accident. If you don't like acapellas, just don't rewatch it and wait for more proper songs from him but don't generalise and go back to that bs about Em falling off.
