Lol. Not just critics, fans also sh---ed on Relapse but the reason he made Recovery was the fact that he started recording differently than Relapse and he wasn't feeling Relapse at all. He hated it too. Fans wanted old Slim but he dyed his hair because of mmlp 2 which wasn't actually what fans wanted and em knew it because it was obvious that almost non of the songs actually sounded like old em. Last but not least, he made kamikaze because he felt that people were bullshitting about his revival. He felt they were being salty etc. He was right. So he didn't do it because fans hated revival, he did because the hate was not sincere, opinions were prejudiced and Revival was slept on...
