No not at all. I disagree with you all the time but I'm talking about these kids who are like "When Wayne got good in 2007..." or "Snoop never made a good album after Doggystyle..." or otherwise parrot things they've heard that support narratives propping up the tiny clique of dudes they like. It's not even an elitist thing, where I think you or I are better or smarter for listening to more music, it just grates on me when people try to speak definitively despite having a very limited view of what was happening in rap in a given year.

Eminem's talent is not equivalent to his discography

whereas I think lil wayne utilized his prime, and the music he made after, in a much better way. There's no denying who has the better catalog between the two. ( even though I generally cant stand little waynes music either)

I think the better question is who is actually the better RAPPER between prime Eminem and lil wayne, thats a more interesting conversation than who is top 10 worthy.

What I dont understand is why its so hard for Eminem fans to swallow that he never crafted a perfect 10/10 album like doggystyle, illmatic, makaveli, liquid swords or pinata, all of his projects have aged terribly and seem so childish.

To me it's not about right or wrong. When you say eminem isn't that good you always back it up. Whether me, or anyone else, agrees with it isn't important, you don't make statements with no reasons and that is what makes me respect your view. But I just think it's weird that you said sslp and mmlp are good albums before and now say he doesn't have a good album at all. Or is that an exaggeration you mentioned?

For the record, HHTG, Doggystyle >>>>

I've done that for years on this board and its predecessors and the level of discourse just keeps getting lower and lower. I've given up on topics like this.
I mean I think SSLP is a *good* rap album. It's not great, and while it maximizes his skills in some respects, it certainly isn't an accurate reflection of where his talent level was at the time. I'm not sure if I'd say MMLP is particularly good.
MKL has higher highs (save "Twist My Fingaz," which is probably his best song). Still Brazy doesn't have a "Bicken Back" or a "Meet the Flockers." But what it does have is a half-dozen songs that are very, very, very close to that level: "Gimmie Got Shot," "Blacks and Browns," "Don't Come to L.A.," "I Got a Question," etc. I would give a slight edge to Still Brazy because he's improved as an out-and-out rapper, but I think they're very comparable in terms of quality. Imo it's been quite a a while since a rapper started his or her career with two albums that were both this good and this different from one another.

As I've posted about at length on here before, I don't think Eminem was close to the best rapper in the world in 2002. "Lose Yourself" (and another song or two on the 8 Mile OST if I remember correctly) are pretty undeniable, but there were masterpieces dropping that year. The Eminem Show was, at that point in his career, far and away his worst-produced album, had a bunch of saccharine woe-is-me raps, and had little of the wit or absurd narrative from earlier in his career. It's an okay record. It's not The Fix or Lord Willin or The Lost Tapes. I would argue that there were 20 better rap records from that year.

Personally I would say 8 Mile Road > Lose Yourself.

And I agree, if I'm getting this right, that Eminem was better (and great at one point) at making classic songs, looking at his first 3 albums/his features etc and some songs of his later albums, than making a good and cohesive album. Sslp is his best project as far as being an actual album for me.

Lol this combination of elements is present in pretty much every competent rapper. Pretty sure a lot of rappers before and after Em have rapped using multiple cadences btw, really don't see how this is innovative in the slightest

it doesn't have to be innovative... most current innovative rappers are trash.

And Eminem was one of the greatest to even incorporate complex rhymes in his rap.

The eminem show is highly overrated, and I was a big fan back then too. I still think the sslp aged the best and eminem was hungry then and you could tell the passion he had for music on that album. Tes was a failed attempt at him making a pop style, hip hop album, IMO. There's not one song from that album I would play anymore but still a handful of songs I listen to from the mmlp and sslp once in a while.

He said Em's use of his voice in multiple ways is innovative, I'm not the one who said there needs to be innovation

You try so hard not to show your inner Stan. I remember you typing paragraphs upon paragraphs defending eminem on SL. You obviously get furious when people say the truth about eminem; even in his prime days he wasn't top 10.

You're the one trying so hard to come at me when you clearly don't know what you're talking about
