Camp - Childish Gambino

Score: 7.5

Cool start to his discography! A handful of tracks and the production reminds me of early Tyler (most notably Backpackers), and taking into consideration this album came out in 2011, they were coming up at the same time so it tracks. A couple misses on here, being Letter Home, Kids, and You See Me. INSANE classics on here though, such as Bonfire, Heartbeat, and Les. I also love All The Shine and Backpackers. I like this album! I was surprised to see that the general consensus wasn't that favorable. Very fun project and I have a feeling it only goes up from here.

I agree I don’t like it as much as Sling but it’s still great. It’s actually grown on me too which is partly why I put Juna on my mixtape and partly why I have the cover of my mixtape as an alternate version of the Charm cover. Add Up My Love and Terrapin also stick out to me. She actually just put out a music video for Terrapin. She like never does music videos but she has done them for this album which is cool, the Juna video is awesome

Charm - Clairo

Another b-----r from Clairo, but it does not hit for me like Sling does. Once again, gorgeous singing and awesome production as I have come to expect from her. Juna being the big hit off this record does not surprise me, I love that track and it totally deserves the love that it receives. Once again, I liked every song on the album! I appreciate her quality over quantity. I can't wait for her next project!

I LOVE Closer To You but can kinda agree with your other skips. This is probably the Clairo album with the most skips but also has some of her most iconic songs so it kinda balances out for me. That’s a good score though

It’s truly the album that keeps on giving. One of my favorite albums of all time. It helped me out a lot when I first heard it and is a warm hug whenever I need it.

Sling - Clairo

This album still hits as much as it did when I first listened last summer. Beautiful singing from Clairo, truly one of the most gorgeous voices in music today. She needs to be in way more conversations in the music world, because holy s---. Every track on here is awesome and put together wonderfully. I am glad this album held up to me over the last 7-ish months, I will def come back to it over and over again. Clairo please keep blessing the world.

d--- I wish I liked this more. Not that 7 is a bad score, just I did not expect to have 3 skips on this album. You can tell Clairo is very close to finding her lane, but some tracks on this album did not click for me. The 3 that didn't click for me were Closer To You, Feel Something, and Sinking. Those 3 skips sandwich an INSANE run on the album though which is North through White Flag. Awesome run with awesome songs, but does not mask the 3 skips for me. Not a bad start, just did not hit for me as much

I do need to take notes of extra projects that get recommended to me that aren’t listened under Albums on these artists’ Spotify pages, just so I can spin back to them if I wanna hear more. For example, stuff under NehruvianDoom and King Geedorah. Also Clairo’s EPs.

InnerSpeaker - Tame Impala

Score: 8.0

Listened to this one Friday, just now having time to type out a review for it. It was great! I am kinda scared that I overhyped myself for Tame Impala though after hearing high praises for years and various production credits such as SKELETONS on ASTROWORLD. So far, this discog is starting off pretty good! Great singing and pretty good production, I know it's a running joke, but one guy behind this is wild. Can't wait to see where Kevin Parker goes next!

Czarface Meets Metal Face - CZARFACE (7L, Esoteric, & Inspectah Deck) & MF DOOM

Score: 8.5

YESSSSS this is the classic DOOM sound I have been waiting to hear again since MM..FOOD. I'm surprised the general consensus around this album is not more positive, I really liked this project. This is my first full album from CZARFACE and I feel like him and DOOM work really well together. Great beats and amazing rapping, a theme throughout DOOM's entire discography. Liked every single track. Excited to hear their next project together, yet it is bittersweet because it is also DOOM's last album currently and his only posthumous project currently.

BORN LIKE THIS - MF DOOM

Score: 7.5

Alright, finally back at it. Been pretty productive this week with schoolwork and locked in on that instead of my deep dives, but we are BACK. BORN LIKE THIS is a solid album from DOOM, not his best but also not his worst. A step up from THE MOUSE & THE MASK for sure, and has some of DOOM's best songs on it, such as GAZZILLION EAR and THAT'S THAT. Still the weakest out of his solo works, but still a good listen. I'm impressed at DOOM's ability to have only 4 songs I consider misses across 7 entire albums, he was different.

MM..FOOD - MF DOOM

You know you got a d--- good discography when someone can say that your 9/10 album is a slight step down from your previous couple albums. Another b-----r album from DOOM, but I did not like it as much as VV and Madvillainy. I'm still in awe how I am halfway through the discog that I am covering and I have yet to consider any song a skip or meh song. We really lost a genius in 2020. I keep saying it, but fantastic rapping and beats across the entire album. How did he do it, man

Madvillainy - Madvillain (MF DOOM & Madlib)

Score: 9.5

Another crazy b-----r from DOOM, but this time fully produced by Madlib. Production on this album was amazing as was the rapping, per usual from both parties. Legendary tracks and beats on here, glad I finally gave this classic album a listen. Not sure if this is a hot take, but although I have them at the same score, I think I slightly prefer VV. Both albums are great, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like VV has the slight edge.
