You mean to tell me it gets even better than this with Madvillainy?? I was constantly nodding my head throughout the album and making stank faces, love love LOVE this album. Feb 1, 2025 Madvillainy - Madvillain (MF DOOM & Madlib) Score: 9.5 Another crazy b-----r from DOOM, but this time fully produced by Madlib. Production on this album was amazing as was the rapping, per usual from both parties. Legendary tracks and beats on here, glad I finally gave this classic album a listen. Not sure if this is a hot take, but although I have them at the same score, I think I slightly prefer VV. Both albums are great, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like VV has the slight edge. Feb 3, 2025 MM..FOOD - MF DOOM Score: 9.0 You know you got a d--- good discography when someone can say that your 9/10 album is a slight step down from your previous couple albums. Another b-----r album from DOOM, but I did not like it as much as VV and Madvillainy. I'm still in awe how I am halfway through the discog that I am covering and I have yet to consider any song a skip or meh song. We really lost a genius in 2020. Feb 3, 2025 THE MOUSE & THE MASK - DANGERDOOM (MF DOOM & Danger Mouse) Score: 7.5 DOOM's worst project yet, but still a good time! Considering this is my 6th album I've heard from him and it's the first time I have had any sort of miss on the album, that alone says a lot. This album just didn't click for me like the others did, but like I said it was still a good time. I think it's interesting how he opted for Adult Swim samples on this one instead of the usual Fantastic Four/Dr. Doom samples. Next Up: BORN LIKE THIS MF DOOM Ranked: 1. Vaudeville Villain - 9.5 2. Feb 6, 2025 BORN LIKE THIS - MF DOOM Score: 7.5 Alright, finally back at it. Been pretty productive this week with schoolwork and locked in on that instead of my deep dives, but we are BACK. BORN LIKE THIS is a solid album from DOOM, not his best but also not his worst. A step up from THE MOUSE & THE MASK for sure, and has some of DOOM's best songs on it, such as GAZZILLION EAR and THAT'S THAT. Still the weakest out of his solo works, but still a good listen. I'm impressed at DOOM's ability to have only 4 songs I consider misses across 7 entire albums, he was different. Next Up: Key to the Kuffs MF DOOM Ranked: 1. Vaudeville Villain - 9.5 2. Feb 6, 2025 Key to the Kuffs - JJ DOOM (MF DOOM & Jneiro Jarel) Score: 6.5 Wow, this is by far the worst album from DOOM so far, but still not awful. Just kinda above average. Nothing terribly special about this project, not much to say. Guv'nor, GMO, Winter Blues, and r-----ed Fren are the standouts to me. After enjoying so much of DOOM's work, it hurts to give this a 6.5 even though it's still a relatively positive score. Next Up: Czarface Meets Metal Face MF DOOM Ranked: 1. Feb 6, 2025 Czarface Meets Metal Face - CZARFACE (7L, Esoteric, & Inspectah Deck) & MF DOOM Score: 8.5 YESSSSS this is the classic DOOM sound I have been waiting to hear again since MM..FOOD. I'm surprised the general consensus around this album is not more positive, I really liked this project. This is my first full album from CZARFACE and I feel like him and DOOM work really well together. Great beats and amazing rapping, a theme throughout DOOM's entire discography. Liked every single track. Excited to hear their next project together, yet it is bittersweet because it is also DOOM's last album currently and his only posthumous project currently. Feb 6, 2025 Super What? - CZARFACE (7L, Esoteric, & Inspectah Deck) & MF DOOM Score: 9.0 Wow, what an ending to a discography. It feels kinda poetic that DOOM's first project released on Spotify (technically, considering Black b------s was meant to be released earlier than Operation: Doomsday) was released with half of a duo being passed away, now this final project has DOOM appearing posthumously. DOOM loved these collaborative albums clearly, considering slightly over half of the discography that I reviewed was a collab album in one fashion or another. I was happy to read that this album was done months before DOOM's death, but was delayed due to COVID. Even if it was not finished prior, I can tell that this project was still put together with love and care. Fantastic album and discography man, RIP MF DOOM!! MF DOOM Ranked: 1.
