    I regret not buying more last weekend, knowing it was going go back up. 130 to 230 since sunday. I stopped myself from buying 10, would of doubled my money but still gained after selling and rebuying. You can almost day trade with ETH, gotta research tax penalties though. Always keep an eye on the weekends, thats when you got the dips. Litecoin could be following in ETH footsteps, other than that the only alt coin I have is bitshares and im not even messing with any others right now.

    i suggest getting in on Golem (GNT) & Civic (CVC), trading at $0.25 & $0.15 right now. CVC might dip a little more, but GNT a good buy atm.

    okay... now my head's hurting. all of my alts went down, but btc surged....and i'm suddenly up money somehow. i get that i'm trading in btc markets, but i can't for the life of my wrap my head around why my alts went down 15% today and i somehow went up in my overall investments.. dual currency trading is a mind f---. someone explain like i'm 5.

    Yes, this is driving me crazy as well. Basically, you are left with less BTC but BTC has gone up 50% in the last couple days. Therefore, to break even, your altcoin would have had to lose 50%. Since it only went down 15%, you are still up a net 35%.

    My problem with this is now that if I pick the right altcoin and see significant gains, but BTC drops down to $1,000, it doesnt matter how much the altcoin is worth because it's value is in BTC rather than USD.

    I cashed out my BTC this morning at $2770 anticipating another weekend dip. Some bulls feel we will see $3300 before July 31st though.

    Coinbase fees are f---ing outrageous. My Gemini account has been approved and i'll be moving on to them. I'm not quite understanding how their fee schedule works, but if I do understand it correctly, it is 7.5% versus the 15% that Coinbase charges. Anyone have any more info on the fees? What about Bittrex?

    isn't it nearly impossible (unless you're absolutely surging) to keep a positive % in the alt game when btc is surging? basically, when btc rises, your per-share-price falls in relation to btc, right?

    coinbase was over 6x's more expensive in fees to purchase btc from. f--- them.

    bittrex is super cheap... just queued up an alt purchase worth 1 btc on bittrex and the fee was 0.00249375 ($6.77)... i don't trade that high usually, and it's a moving scale (%), so the most i think i've paid for an alt on the exchange has been 2 bucks and some change.

    I believe you are correct. It can be annoying though because even though you invest in the right altcoin, BTC better hold strong or any gain in an altcoin is worthless. I'm starting to think the alt coins are a somewhat waste of time and the focus should be on the big 3.

    What comes first for BTC: 2300 or 3000? This 2600 is holding up, but it looks like a quick drop to 2300 if it breaks.

    I'm sitting on USD right now and really like a couple altcoins but feel BTC is ready for a dip. Would you buy an altcoin if you believed BTC was overvalued? I want to see BTC at 2300 before I increase my position and at that point I would be able to buy more of the altcoins.

    are you guys doing using your bank or card? fees are much cheaper on coinbase if you use card. but either way its still too much.

    I used bank on both coinbase and gemini. There was no fee to get my money on and off, only when buying and selling. As Slyk showed, there is absolutely no reason to trade on coinbase unless you are really into LTC.
