Mar 2, 2020 A foil cap? I’m not stressing. I agree with the general sentiment of washing your hands and staying home if you’re sick. Just think many people aren’t taking it seriously enough, and should be prepared for serious impacts to the economy and hospital availability. If you look at Italy right now their hospitals are already overwhelmed and it’s gonna lead to cutbacks in treatment of other serious diseases. In economic terms their will likely be a supply side recession which hasn’t happened since the oil crisis and are a lot harder to fix. On top of that there will be a scarcity of some every day products for the foreseeable future. thinking ahead doesn’t mean I think it’s the apocolypse or the end of humanity. just that there can and will be serious effects on everyone, including those who don’t get sick.

Mar 6, 2020 Calm down! I travel through the place in London that has 2 or 3 offices on lockdown every day. If I catch the virus, so what? I'm gonna feel like s--- for a few days but in a week or 2 I'll be back at it. Catching the virus does not mean you're going to die! We all get the flu, it's no different. Sorry. This whole thing pisses me off so much!

Mar 6, 2020 People don't understand that hospital resources aren't unlimited and at the rate it's spreading hospitals will be overwhelmed. There's only so many people hospitals can put in intensive care. Then it won't be just old people with weak immune systems dying. Italy went from 1 infected to 3000 infected in 10 days. At this point its 4600 infected. About 200 have died so far since the outbreak there in late January and the numbers are only rising. If it keeps going at this rate it'll completely overwhelm hospitals even in advanced countries and the death toll could skyrocket. Even though getting the virus isn't a certain death sentence if you are young and healthy it can still f--- you up and put you on your a--- for a while. It only takes a small percentage of the population to be out of commission to f--- things up economically I don't think this will be another Black Death but it definitely should be taken very seriously, even if only for the absolute financial and socially disruptive shitstorm this thing will cause if we don't take precautions and just hope it'll blow over soon
