    Yeah I'm not sure how other zombie shows/movies deal with it but in TWD the virus is already inside of you and once you've been bitten by a walker or you die the virus activates.

    It's the type of show you have to switch your brain off to, it's a guilty pleasure. Plus the show isn't about walkers/zombies it's about survival.

    Shane was my favorite character tbh.
    Rick pissed me off by always wanting to do the "right thing"
    Thankfully he changed as the show progressed. Carl also stopped being an annoying piece of s---.
    Lizzie and Andrea are woat characters though.

    They butchered Andrea in the TV show so badly. She's a badass and so reliable in the comic.

    Actually, go read the comics when you have time BNTS, it's 10x better than the show.
