    Not necessarily, it's just one of many subjects in my college. I'm studying English, so I can be a teacher or translator.

    Yeah either career choice would be good.

    I got a lot of respect for translators tbh, we had to go through them when I was little because my mum couldn't speak a lick of English. It wasn't until I was 13 that I could sorta translate basic stuff from doctor to mum.

    It's a very important skill that's for sure.

    Exactly, moreover if you know English, you can communicate with people from all over the world without any problems. It's like a global language now.

    She can speak it a bit but only slowly and just basic stuff.

    Mum's been in Australia for almost 30 years but she could never really study the language due to taking care of us as a single parent. :mjcry:

    My brothers and I try to help translate whenever it's necessary but for the most part she can understand it a bit nowadays.

    The truth is that even basic stuff is enough to do simple daily things like shopping etc.
