So... today I learnt that cats dont always land on their feet.
My cat was on top of my drawers and I was petting her, just about to pick her up for some hugs when she decides to jump. My hands threw off, she flipped around mid air and landed on the floor on her back, poor princess.

So I recently found out that someone I'm close to has to take prescription medication for something or other, but the medication has a long list of adverse side effects detrimental to their mental health. I've known them for a while and they've always seemed a little ditzy or overly prone to "blonde moments", but I didn't put two and two together until a few months back. They've gotten more moody and prone to lashing out in the last year as their medication changed, which results in a lot of arguing. They've been very sick for about a month now and all the various prescriptions the doctors give don't help even slightly. That person had asked me to stay over at their place this weekend but I shrugged them off to go party with friends I don't see as often. When I saw them today they told me that yesterday, while there was flash flooding and tornadoes and power outages in the area, their back was in so much pain they couldn't move all night, and its s-----y because I honestly should have been there to help them out but I was more concerned with partying. We got into another pretty intense argument tonight and they broke down crying in front of me talking about how they're just stressed from being sick and in pain and that they're worried because the doctors have tried all these different medications and nothing has worked and they're genuinely concerned it could be something more severe, possible even life-threatening and I didn't know what to say, I was still upset from the argument but I honestly hadn't realized things were that bad. I just looked away and stayed quiet out of fear my voice might crack and I might break down too. I left and went for a jog to collect my thoughts and now I'm typing this. Idk what to do and I'm not even really looking for answers, I just feel an awful, overwhelming wave of depression I've never felt in my life and telling people I know irl isn't really an option right now. I don't want pity and I'm not seeking attention to get some likes, this is just the only platform I can comfortably share my experience with.

Since you said that you're not too happy about turning two centuries old: You're always as old or young as how feel how old/young you are. In the end, it's just a number but the endless possibilities remain (almost) the same, no matter if you're 17, 19 or 21. (you rather have even more possibilities with 21, that's cool).
