Nov 13, 2017 Seriously. Its clear that past Em and modern em are two completely different artists. He's tried being like his old self and put out relapse.... Which got a lot of hate. People say they want the old em back. But outside of the obvious fact that he cant, would an old school Eminem really suit modern hip hop much better than the current em does?. Would a song about a drugged up murderer dismembering his coworker really fit well with the meta? It's clear that em has his flaws, but playing right for me alongside rabbit run will only highlight the flaws more than they probably need to be...Especially given the stylistic difference in em's rapping (stop go flow) accounting for half of the flack he gets nowadays. People prefer a smooth flow to technically sharp yet mechanical grind. And his beat choices aren't always the most catchy either. Which is why he needs to rethink his style instead of try-harding in a direction the fans are bound to dislike anyways. But if he's not able to recreate that vintage style of flow then judging him on such is pointless. And if the Jew style is not to taste then just give up on liking modern em. Its a different artist that if you didn't like before you probably won't like after revival. People don't change much at 40.
Nov 13, 2017 Holy s--- I typed "Jew style" instead of "new style" but using a crap phone so can't be bothered to edit.
Nov 13, 2017 But you’re right, people are still complaining about how he doesn’t rap like he did in 2002 anymore, even though that’s what Walk On Water is about
Nov 13, 2017 You do know that people are mainly complaining about the flow and production and not his lyrics right? He can write whatever the f--- he wants but it should be atleast listenable.
