Jul 5, 2017Heard it summarized perfectly: if you think this guy's name is newsworthy then publish it. If not, don't. But holding future behavior over his head is blackmail.
This isn't CNN's job, this isn't reporting the news.

you f---ing idiot... They came across HanAssholeSolo on reddit, taking claim for creating the infamous trump meme. They then dug around to find his personal information, then called him threatening him to apologize or they'd release his name to the public. That IS doxing you r-----.
yeah cause 1. it's real news and 2. because they aren't trying to vilify that person, or threatening to reveal his personal information.
so a 15 yr old, who is probably poorly informed and just likes to have a laugh online, by posting edgy s--- (wow, who'd of thought teenagers are capable of such things?) anonymously, completely deserves to be called by a big corporation and threatened to apologize or have his info released publicly? mm yeah blackmail is not a crime and you're completely fine with a massive corporation bullying a 15 year old because of a "mistake" he made online one time?
There's been Trump memes everywhere (yes yes i know that trump didnt retweet them, f--- off) thousnads, tens of thousands, all similar to the infamous gif. but because trump retweeted that 15 yr olds tweet, that 15 yr old deserves to be doxxed, threatened and blackmailed by a news corporation?
Also, from what I read, his personal info was pretty hard to find and CNN would have had to do some morally questionable (though not illegal) things to obtain the info, without the help of the reddit mods.
btw I hope you get bullied IRL -
