I wouldn’t argue with you on that. All of revival has some of the best mixing and mastering we’ve ever seen from an Em album. Offended also has some wild rhyme schemes with what I think is a unique beat. Like who the f--- else can rap over something like that?

It’s insane. Just bars after bars. Pinnacle of rhyming whether you like the song or not.

This era was the low point in terms of writing and his delivery. Whenever someone calls Em’s music lyrical miracle BS, this is what I think of.

I can’t agree less…how is this bad writing in any way shape or form? It’s about as skillful and thoughtful you can get as a rapper.

Just because it rhymes, doesn’t mean it’s good. Just look at the first bars:

Jumped out of the 2nd floor of a record store
With a Treacherous Four cassette and a cassette recorder
    In Ecuador with Edward Norton

Yes, it rhymes. But what the actual f--- is he even saying.

He and Edward Norton jumped out of the 2nd floor of a record store, that is based in Equador, with a Treacherous Four cassete and a cassette recorder.

It’s really not that hard to understand but you have to do some digging to figure out the nuances.

Jumped out of a second floor record store is is a great rhyme scheme and he is setting up bars about about being a bandit and thief team with Edward Norton.

Treacherous four is a play on words for the treacherous three rap group. It would only be on cassette since it’s old and Em has publicly stated how he loves cassettes and collects them. He needs a recorder to record his bars obviously.

Em loves movies and has talked about Primal Fear and Ed Norton in lots of songs (great movie and great actor). This also plays into all the humanitarian work that Ed Norton does in Ecuador. You can google it. Tons of info on it. He is also just setting up the story visually as best he can for the rest of the song.

That’s what it all means, thanks.

Exactly. It’s f---ing wild. The greatest rhyming that’s ever been done in the history of rap.

Eminem’s Batman lines now make more sense in context to what news was just leaked about him playing the part in 2004. Christ this song just keeps on giving. Amazing.
