Nov 12, 2022 Wow digital recordings were a thing since the late 80s. In this case I suspect the first vinyl press of SSLP and MMLP are the goat and then the CD version should be good. Now I wonder why CC2 has a different sound to the songs (as people said they aren’t so loud) since they come from the same digital master.

Nov 13, 2022 yup. It’s just that since the 2000 there are no more analog recordings. Maybe analog mastering. So cd=vinyl. Meaning it’s just a collection item.
Nov 13, 2022 Also, I believe songs used on compilations have to be remastered because they come from various sources and the sequencing of the tracklist is different from where they originally were. The quality has to be consistent

Nov 14, 2022 I want to know that too. All that it says on the vinyl is that it's "2019 UMG Recording" And for that matter - does it mean that buying the current MMLP vinyl that's being sold today would have the original (analog) recording?
Nov 26, 2022 From what I’ve read on vinyl mastering is that they master the music for Vinyl specifically, something about hi and low frequencies dictate how the grooves are cut.. so idk if they are the same masters. I’ve been thinking about having my own vinyl cut of Eminem bootlegs and b-sides. I guess I will find out when I send them a bunch of digital files
