Apr 17, 2015 Gonna try me hardest to not watch till May 1st. Supposed to be attached to age of ultron and I want the day to be as epic as possible.
Apr 17, 2015 I said from the start Affleck was going to k--- it...and just by seeing the trailer, it confirms it.
Apr 17, 2015 Hah, sorry bruh - i HATED everything about this. Dour, joyless tone -- the overall '300' on steroids look... The Affleck casting itself isn't bad, per se, but Snyder is 100% the wrong man to be telling this particular story. I've been waiting for a Batman/Superman movie at least since Clooney made that crack in BATMAN & ROBIN... and this is it? nah. Bring back Keaton.
Apr 17, 2015 I'm dead serious though, Keaton is back... he's totally aged into Frank Miller's Batman. Cast him as a grizzled, weathered Bruce (pay him a s--- ton of money), and I might be excited about this. Man of Steel, though, very much s----d -- a gigantic misread of what makes Superman a compelling character
Apr 17, 2015 No, I agree Keaton is probably the best Batman ever, but everything about this film (by looking at the trailer) looks awesome to me. I think Affleck is gonna k--- this, just like Leto is going to k--- the joker.. both are gonna bring unique portrayals to the their respective characters.
Apr 17, 2015 Ugh. Batman films shouldn't be allowed to made after Nolan's trilogy. I was expecting this to be awful and it looks like it will be.
Apr 17, 2015 Nolan's films were really weak adaptions of Batman though. Well made and enjoyable movies, but they're way too grounded for the character.
Apr 17, 2015 I always liked that Nolan's trilogy had a realistic vibe to them. @LasiK what is the best adaptation of Batman in your opinion?
Apr 17, 2015 Well, it depends on what you define as "best." Nolan's movies are arguably the best films from a critical standpoint, but we've yet to have a live action adaption that is truly faithful to the comics. The best non-comic Batman mediums are animated shows/movies, namely Batman: The Animated Series, Mask of the Phantasm (an animated film set in the continuity of The Animated Series, and probably my favorite Batman movie), Arkham Asylum & Arkham City (PS3, 360, PC games), and a few other animated films (TDKR, Year One, Red Hood, though those are more or less direct adaptions of certain comic arcs).
Apr 17, 2015 I get what you're saying, but TDK is probably the best onscreen live action Batman adaptation onscreen to date? You can cite Mask of the Phantasm, but it's got an obvious edge since its animation, etc.
Apr 17, 2015 It's the first, 2 minute trailer for a movie that's still a year out. Give 'em a little credit. This is obviously vastly different from the Nolan films, which most people who don't follow the character outside of film, are used to when they think of Batman. We haven't had a "comic book" Batman in film yet. All we've had are these rubbery/combat suit wearing Batmen, which were either goofy/campy, or basically a crime/drama film where the protagonist just happens to wear a cape and a cowl. Basically, we have not seen a real Batman in a movie yet. Especially in today's day and age when you can literally do anything on screen. No way you can say this isn't going to be good, just based off of that low quality early trailer. This s--- is making 2 billion dollars regardless. That's not to say Nolan's trilogy wasn't amazing. TDK second best superhero movie of all time. @LasiK You ever dabble into the comics?
Apr 17, 2015 Oh word that's whatsup man. Definitely a dying art form if we're talking physical copies. Pretty sure comics today do pretty well digitally. I thought about starting a general comic book discussion thread but I didn't think anyone really read them on here lol.
Apr 17, 2015 You mean the look that artists have designed superheros with for the past, what...80 years? These are the number 1 and 2 superhero characters...of all time. Do you think they'd be skinny p-----s or something lmao No worries tho, to each his own.
