    While i believe he is dumb. I think his biggest issue is he seemingly living in a fantasy bubble. I have never seen a president so disconnected from the world. Did u ever see someone so bluntly racist that its not racist anymore? Like he believes so much in his racism thats its not anymore?

    How do you know unless you’re there? these situations are fraught w greys. You DO not always know when something is going to turn volatile. It’s dicey. I’m not saying there isn’t a GASP compromise solution but for all this high falutent talk (mostly by people who aren’t experts lol) I suspect the reality is a lot more fragile in practice. Just me talking tho

    The difference between me last week and you guys today (and tbh also last wk) is I’m not leaning on good vibes or rhetoric. Like, why can’t “reform” start w 8 can’t wait and move into reallocating funds? Why is that so awful? Tangible solutions that u can implement and sell to voters without it looking like a bunch of bs flirting w anarchy.

    Like ffs stop w all this radical (and mostly academic) posturing . The movement has rightly generated a conversation about reform. Utilize that window, and stop squandering it w poorly messaged goofiness.. just my take.

    how do you build something from the ground up? whats your actual solution

    "defunding" tactical equipment - OK. invest in real services, im with you. the rest of this however sounds like sloganeering (and i disagree, i think theres been a lot of open interpretation and confusion around what DefundthePolice even means... which is troubling.)

    not that any of this will persuade any of you lol. what do i know right

    i’m not talking about dispatchers i’m talking about the civil servants at a dispatcher’s disposal

    respectfully you are way out of your depth; serious people have been putting forth serious abolition proposals for years, you should do some reading and catch up!

    there will always be teams of people who are trained to deal with active shooters etc. there will be detectives to investigate things. nothing you sincerely want, that a police force currently provides, will be cut outright. it’ll just be fulfilled by a (usually unarmed) person who is trained in that specific field.

    if you “don’t want people and minorities to get hurt” you should give a f--- about addressing the problem of policing in american cities instead of hanging from biden’s nutsack

    edit- truly cannot believe that millions of people risked their health during a pandemic to protest their communities being ravaged by police violence, you sat on here snarking about them while they won material change, and you have the nerve to call others smug

    Unfortunately the police in our country lie about this stuff all the time to protect each other. Did you see the original press release they gave about George Floyd before the video came out that @Kon posted (Still trying to find a source on that specifically, but they do this type of stuff all the time)? It basically just said they noticed he was 'suffering medical distress' when they handcuffed him and he died at the hospital. If videos of these things don't come out they pass it off as a routine thing.
