May 29, 2015 against all odds u broke the SXN80 stereotype fam it just seems like most of the euros here are the type to not know much about the culture at all, while acting like they do.... the smug "real hip hop" kind of fans because well, that's what the internet tells you the culture is. So we've got 15 year olds in Europe thinking they're smart and true rap fans because they listen to Kendrick and shun Young Thug. When these types of people are American we call them @BrotherMan or just fuckboys
May 29, 2015 That's true, there's a hip hop house in my town with local rappers/producers, 2 guys are very good and I even bought their cd for the support but most of the rest are "purists" and despise most of the rappers post 2004-5 or something, they're very unimformed as well. In general many people in EU have stayed in the 90's regarding rap ("real rap"), which is understandable to a certain degree for more casual listeners (big exceptions are french and british as far as I know), but it's pretentious and close-minded af when dudes in my city say that "hip hop is a lifestyle" and stuff like that; super awkward as well.
