    The problem with the social media age is people think their fringe politics are way more popular than they actually are because of their small circle injecting it into their feeds - then complain when the popular choice wins and claim it's rigged and everyone they don't support sucks. I'm a progressive, but I'm also pragmatic and Joe Biden is the most progressive presidential candidate ever.

    counter point: or people didn’t like them enough to vote for them. I get it’s easy to blame the big scary lobbyists & money in politics but like...it comes down to votes.

    It's hard to tell. I working 100 hours a week with guys who have been listening to talk radio and watching foxnews since before the Iraq War and have cult like devotion to the Republican Party as a whole and where Trump hats... sucks because they are good dudes other than that... just hypnotized by Republican Entertainment.

    So, anecdotally I wouldn't think Al Gross would have a chance... but if he does... it would be greatly do to the other Republican machine The Lincoln Project which has helped Alaskan Anti-Republican candidates more than the DNC has in 25 years.

    PA is weird. Like the majority of my town has Biden signs up, but there’s a large number of pennsyltucky hicks that are huge Trump people. And that’s just in the greater Philadelphia area where things are actually normal. Once you escape here, there’s nothing but freaks in this state.

    there aren’t many Trump defectors when looking at the electorate as a whole (I think only like 6%) but the ones in key rust belt states are making a difference for Biden.

    depends on the state! Some states don’t allow mail-in ballots to start being counted until Election Day I believe.

    Trump still has a 15% chance of winning the election via FiveThirtyEight & 9% chance via the economist model. So it’s still a significant chance (anything around ~10%) but that’s taking into account we have a little more than 3 weeks until the election. If Trump/Pence really want a shot at winning this election, they need to cut that nationally lead down to at least like +4 Biden. I just can’t think of many [legal] pathways from them to get there that doesn’t involve some ground breaking development from the Biden campaign. Maybe Russia tries some s--- again? Idk lol. It’s desperation mode though for the Trump campaign.

    National polls were accurate in 2016. It said Clinton would win the popular vote by 4 points & she won it by ~3 points. It was state polls in some rust belt states that were off in 2016. It’s hard to predict which way polls will be off though. Margins of error are always +/- so while the error went in Trump’s favor in 2016, it doesn’t mean it’ll go in his favor in 2020. Polls could be underestimating Biden for all we know. Also, Biden’s lead right now is far ahead of what Clinton was at this point. Clinton never led by more than +7.6 & that peak was in the summer. Biden is leading by +10 a week into October lol.
