Mar 24, 2021 Race is inextricably tied to nearly every facet of our society and history—but who is upset that he “isn’t white?” I swear y’all make this s--- up lol. Regardless, the concept of whiteness has little to do with your actual heritage/ethnic makeup and a lot to do with your skin color. The only reason we’re talking about him “not being white” is cuz of his name. I don’t know where this guy is from but for example a light skinned Arab or Latino person can often pass as white while a dark skinned Italian or Greek person often does not.
Mar 24, 2021 Firearm registries & other common sense policies like universal background checks, closing gun show loop hole, mandatory wait times etc. are well over due. I wish Dems would just stop trying to push the Assault Weapons ban. Gun bans in the U.S. are just a nonstarter.
Mar 24, 2021 Couldn’t agree more. All of those things you first mentioned have bipartisan support and would easily pass. Dems always talk about banning assaults weapons, but never talk about what getting owners to surrender them looks like.
Mar 24, 2021 Republicans in Congress would never pass any gun control legislation—especially if it made Democrats look good/productive. They rather the optics of more people dying on Democrats watch than try to find any middle ground.
