Jul 3, 2015 Didn't bother reading any post in the thread but Eminem is no way irrelevant to this forum or in general. Yesterday Eminem took over the forum and sure that will obviously die down in a week or so because he falls off the face of the earth a lot but once he's back this place will turn right back into an Eminem forum. Outside of forums and in general no way is Eminem irrelevant. Not even up for debate.
Jul 3, 2015 You are throwing in arguments that don't make any sense. You want People to proof eminem is still relevant, but all facts (sales, streams, views) are because of his fanbase you say. So all available numbers don't matter according to you. Let 's assume that indeed is the fact .Do you have any other proof? You can name everything you want, proof it. Don't say Jay Cole is political or is more relevant just because you say so. Come with an analyses, numbers, graphs, investigation results. Otherwise Just stfu. Thnx.
Jul 3, 2015 Someone said Em was the most streamed artist on Spotify, I responded and said Taylor Swift before she took her music off and Ed Sheeran had more streams than Em had in 2014. Do you Em stans read anything you post? Lmao so cringe worthy how you guys bow down to someone who even said he benefits from white supremacy and if he was black he wouldn't be nearly as popular. Macklemore said the same but he was never good. Em on the other hand was good at one point but he fell off. It's not 2000 anymore. Drake, Kendrick and Cole are the big 3 in mainstream hip-hop right now. Anyone with a brain will tell you the same. No one said Cole was a political rapper. Kendrick saying "And we hate popo, wanna k--- us dead in the street for sure" doesn't make him a political rapper. Did you really just "Don't say J Cole is relevant because you say so" like he's not one of the hottest rappers right now and just sold over a million copies on his latest album? You can have your opinion but no f---ing graph is going to convince me Eminem is more popular than those three in 2015. Eminem is not relevant in mainstream hip-hop (which is mostly garbage so shouldn't be hard to be relevant considering he's done a few features this year and had a commercial premiere during the NBA finals?), younger people aren't listening to Eminem unless they are Eminem fans, people who are normal don't care about Eminem. Why is this so hard to grasp? Eminem is past his prime. People are listening to newer stuff. Unless Em switches up his style besides using that awful flow, no one outside of his fanbase cares about him putting out music because it's the same garbage every time. Stay mad glad I made you join the site
Jul 5, 2015 Em is still relevant but he's just not AS relevant as other rappers now. Does it mean J Cole is more famous than Eminem now? No... But he's got way more buzz than Eminem does, and more people are listening to J Cole's CURRENT music than Eminem's CURRENT music. Same as Kendrick or Drake. The last time Eminem was truly "relevant" in the mainstream was with The Monster. I look at relevancy in terms of casual listeners. If I walk up to random people and ask who they're listening to RIGHT NOW. More often than not, it's not going to be Eminem over J Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Iggy, etc.
