Aug 26, 2021 extremely slim. the current sinister lineup is rumored to be Goblin, Ock, Electro, Sandman, and the Lizard. Most people speculate #6 to be ASM2 Rhino, but I am hoping it's MCU Scorpion. It could also be Venom, but like I said I think that is highly unlikely
Aug 29, 2021 This is confirmation that we’re going to see Tobey back as Spider-Man. GMA who is owned by Disney (who owns Marvel) said “Tobey is rumored to be in this movie”. They would not have said that if it wasn’t true. That’s our confirmation.
Aug 29, 2021 while I do believe Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in this movie, I don't think that video is confirmation of anything. It was posted nearly a week ago after the trailer premiered and it just seems like they're just reporting what's hot and trending. he even talks about Jamie Foxx and the yellow lightning "hinting" at Electro's return, but that's already confirmed. h---, Jame Foxx as Electro was the first returning cast member confirmed last year
Aug 29, 2021 It’s 100% confirmation. Disney who owns GMA would not have allowed that to have been said within the report if it wasn’t true. It would have been removed from the channel. This was strategically reported without officially saying it.
Aug 29, 2021 I don't think so. Tobey Maguire has been rumored to be in the movie long before this trailer was released and Sony is handling the marketing of the film, not Disney. And again, the reporter talks about Jamie Foxx as if he's only rumored to be in the film too, but he was the first villain actor confirmed to be returning
Aug 29, 2021 We’ve all known Tobey is going to be in it. It’s a money move both Sony, Disney & Tobey wouldn’t miss. But both Sony & Disney would have came out and said something regarding “Tobey is rumored to be in it” if it wasn’t true. They do this to us in all forms of media for movies and entertainment. They sprinkle in things to confirm without saying it officially.
Aug 29, 2021 maybe you're right and some Sony or Marvel exec told the reporter to say it the way he did. But as someone who has been following the news about this movie very closely, that's just not the feeling I got from watching the video for reasons I already stated. It really just feels like a tabloid news video covering something that is trending, nothing more.
Aug 29, 2021 lots of people speculate that Tobey and Andrew are gonna be in the next trailer. I feel like they could do that, or they'll just keep it as a surprise. The Avengers Endgame trailers showed relatively very little content from the movie and ended up surprising the audience ten fold. They could be doing that again here. or they could just say f--- it and show the two of them in the trailer
Aug 29, 2021 At the end of the day I could very well be wrong. But being realistic I think it’s very unlikely that they would ever not make it happen. Also Disney/Marvel & Sony have been very strict regarding info being spread or misleading headlines being made regarding their surprises with these films. Just my take on it all.
Aug 29, 2021 to be honest I have been seeing headlines about Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Charlie Cox returning since like December onward. Basically ever since other legacy actors were confirmed. But I never believed any of that s--- because they were unreliable sources, and some of those could still be untrue. Sony and Disney hasn't actually confirmed the return of Goblin but they released evidence proving he's back. And even then they haven't decided to confirm it. but I think you and I are on the same page saying basically the same things. They know what they're doing.
Aug 29, 2021 It would be a massive marketing blunder to not put them in future advertisements and trailers. Not something you save for a surprise cameos IMO. Trailer 2 will be telling.
Aug 29, 2021 not necessarily. just look again at Endgame's trailer and how little they got away with showing and still couldn't contain the hype. so with the amount of hype this movie already has, they might not need to show their biggest money shots which are the legacy Spider-Men. NwH broke Endgame's 24 hours trailer view record by a pretty wide margin. I think the next trailer will release much closer to the film's debut.
Aug 29, 2021 I keep referencing Endgame but there isn't any other movie I can bring up that could compare to this movie in terms of hype Did Professor Hulk, fat Thor, the death of Black Widow/Iron Man, Cap wielding Mjolnir, or the time travel plot ever leak before the movie did?
Aug 29, 2021 To be fair, can’t really compare someone being contractually tied to appear in a movie to actual plot elements of a movie. Endgame isn’t the first movie to not have its details and ending leaked lol. Casting is a whole different beast.
Aug 29, 2021 true that. well, there was one cameo in Endgame that I didn't see coming which was James D'Arcy as Jarvis. I didn't know it at the time but he's the same actor who portrays Jarvis in Agent Carter. Now that cameo may not have hit home that hard, but JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson? I don't think anyone saw that coming in Far From Home and even though it was a midcredit scene it was arguably and literally the most important thing that happened in the entire movie
Aug 29, 2021 Idk, I never followed leaks. Just saying it's cooler when you see it in the movie not some pics or a trailer. This is gonna be pretty cool.
Aug 29, 2021 you don't follow leaks but you know it's a guarantee that the legacy Spider-Men and Matt Murdock are returning in this movie, all those are technically leaks. They're so public that you don't even have to go looking for them. either Disney did a better job of being tight lipped about Endgame than Sony is for NwH, or being produced and filmed during a pandemic has just made keeping secrets that much harder
