Aug 2, 2021 this is a hilarious post. i live in MD too and have been tracking this entire time the pains that Gov Hogan and county officials took to minimize the spread of the virus, then implement a robust vaccination system. like, how can you be so foolish? (ik ik its our ~~attitude thats keeping you from being a big boy and getting the vaccine lol. smart!) but you're literally signaling out the very states that took COVID serious from the start, as evidence that it's not serious? grow up.
Aug 2, 2021 I think it's also free to every one over here if done through yours doctor's office. But if you want the convenience of just walking past your local highstreet pharmacy then it's like a £7 charge. Really paying for the convenience rather than the shot.
Aug 2, 2021 58% vax rate in md rn, so 42% unvaxed (which is still quite a bit of ppl) yet it doesnt reflect at all in the death rate, make it make sense
Aug 2, 2021 why do they inflate numbers and tell you 16,000 people got covid like its headline news georgia is having a "spike" in cases yet is at an all time low in deaths..fear mongering
Aug 2, 2021 Its the vaccines that have helped with that. Testing is probably higher now as well so ctaching more cases Even the rare people who test positive after getting the vaccine are way less likely to die.
Aug 2, 2021 When this is all said and done (if it ends), those who refused to get the vaccination and managed to not become critically ill, die, or have long-lasting side effects, will be standing pretty proud of their defeat over Fouci, the government, & the "fear mongering". But the stubbornness that will have allowed that triumphant righteousness has already come with the cost of prolonging the virus, enabling it to mutate, transmission to more people, and directly caused deaths to individuals. The only ones applauding you will be the minority of others like you. Here's your applause in advance, "wolves":
Aug 2, 2021 True but those 65% is fully vaccinated right now here, lots of people (me included) still need to get the 2nd. So its gonna be at least 80%.
Aug 2, 2021 Very possibly more deadly than the virus itself: https://theconversation.com/coronavirus-could-reading-about-the-pandemic-cause-harm-135585
Aug 2, 2021 650k+ dead annually in us from heart disease Everyone: nothing 630k total dead over 4 years from rona Everyone: "REEEEE MUH PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS EAT THE VACCINE STAY INDOORS LICK THE BOOTS REE ITS A GLOBAL DOSASTER REE"
Aug 2, 2021 OK i will lol. You know I will (though you never do) so first i beleive over 70% adults have at least one shot (its probably higher, idk), which helps but that doesnt even tell the full story: Montgomery County, MD COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker | rgj.com you can see the most populated areas, generally, are darker than - say - western maryland or southern md.... which arent as concentrated and (unsurprisingly) more conservative. so - again - combine that with general thoughtfulness thats been in place since this began, state at home orders/mask wearing, and however u want to define herd immunity, we may be approaching that. so its not one thing, but a collective approach to being considerate and careful. when you have smart local leaders and citizens who give a s--- about public health and one another, this is the kind of success story you see you have to be thoughtful about this stuff and not leap to your wild, and foolish, conclusions all the time. challenge yourself. break down where ppl live, how concentrated are their areas, are their factors and policies in place contributing to low exposure rates? like: is it a WILD COINCIDENCE that our rates dropped as soon as millions of people got vaccinated lol. why is this so complicated
Aug 2, 2021 is that what 'everyone' says about heart disease? or are there public awareness campaigns trying to help people ..? y/n and again, lets not conflate: this is a capital p Pandemic, people eating hamburgers and s--- is just stupidity***. which i know you know (when its quiet, and dark, and you've logged out) (**or, ahem, individuals thinking they know better despite hard scientific evidence.. sound familiar?)
Aug 2, 2021 funnily enough the people who k--- themselves with burgers are a similar demographic to trump voters and people who are afraid of the vaccine...
Aug 2, 2021 I'm really glad that the Republicans decided to be the anti-vaxxers so I don't have to defend dumb hippie dippie California Liberals who were the only anti-vaxxers 5 years ago.
Aug 2, 2021 Wlouldnt know I haven't seen em/paid them enough. Mind if I have. Deff public awareness campaigns in place for covid but Yeah true one lkills you the other doesn't, it's not fair to compare the two
Aug 2, 2021 From the research I've done, you (we) get vaccinated and those who don't can still get the virus from you (us). Vaccinated people (we ((me)) can still carry it with 0 symptoms and pass it on. If they don't get vaccinated it doesn't affect vaccinated people (ME). But they still get sick and share it around. They risk it, it doesn't affect you (us) you don't like it then pray the Rona kills them. It's not like other vaccines where you need everyone to get it. If they don't they only harm themselves - who cares. (same as heart disease, nobody gives a f--- cause their doin it to themselves) Coronas a load of s--- anyway, any excuse to drop the pop by 10-30% would have been fantastic for the globe Just don't get your guys outrage at all.
