    Welcome to OPUS, a weekly thread I’ll be keeping up with where every Monday, an artist will be chose and we vote on what their best (or our favourite) album is by said person. Arguing is encouraged, but keep it about the music folks. Poll will open on Monday, and close on Friday. I’ll continue to log the winning albums and make a de facto list of S80 favourite albums. If you have any recommendations on artists we should do in the future, s---t me a DM. Let’s go

    I figured Ross was a good jump off point for this thread because he’s a great rapper with really good albums but it’s hard to pinpoint his best. Something I forgot before making this thread is how f---ing good if a run Teflon Don>God Forgives>Mastermind is. Goddammit I’m going to have to go back and listen to them all before I cast my vote but I’m really leaning towards God Forgives, I Dont right now. This was peak MMG. Take me back

    Teflon Don is pretty decisively his best album imo, but Ross doesn't get enough credit for his consistency

    Is it really though? I’m gonna go on record saying GFID is a better listen at the end of the day on my opinion. Also Sixteen does not get enough flowers, that song was in CONSTANT rotation back in the day. Andre:allears:

    I agree with the second part 100%. He’s one of the most consistent rappers we’ve seen. People forget how big MMG was, and I truly believe Ross is due for a second life soon. His luxury rap sound meshes really well with guys like Freddy and Benny

    Gotta be honest I'm not a big Ross fanatic so I'll have to relisten to all these albums, but I remember Mastermind and Teflon Don having a lot of great songs that I personally enjoyed the most

    Well you have to choose one. If Rick Ross was discography was lost in a weird surreal fire, which one would you pray was saved? I’ve officially cast my vote for God Forgives, I Dont. Remember Hold Me Back memes? Impeccable

    Teflon Don—Mastermind is also a personal favorite of mine. Rich Forever as well, which honestly I think should be included in this because it was going to be an album but he released it for free as a "mixtape" due to label issues. Just shows how meaningless the "mixtape" vs. "album" terminology was at that point.

    Believe me when I said I thought long and hard about including Rich Forever. If I did, it would easily get my vote. I love that s---. But I figured if I included that mixtape, I’d have to include the other ones too which frankly seemed like a waste of time so for the purpose of this were doing commercial studio albums only

    First RR album I listen to was PoM2. Wasn't overly impressed. I know there's better examples of his but not inspired to listen to them all.

    Well I wouldn't be able to live without Sanctified, The Devil Is A Lie and Paradise Lost so I guess Mastermind will be my choice (even if objectively not his best piece of work but for me his most enjoyable one). I can live with Aston Martin Music getting lost, since I'm On One is way better anyways hehe

    I have to admit I've never heard any Rick Ross album, just single songs. It's time to do my homework I guess.

    First off @Jeans the mfing GOAT of this forum s---. This thread is awesome.

    Secondly, I'mma stir s--- up and say God Forgives, I Don't, with Teflon Don in close second and Mastermind in third. GFID is an under appreciated gem in his discog imo. Like a more developed, extensive version of Teflon Don. Plus Jay, Nas and Dre features, not to mention one of the best 3 Stacks guest verses of all time

    I’m glad someone finally agrees with me here, this s--- knocks off in the speakers. So many highs to this album. After today’s relisten I added a bunch of songs to my playlist (Amsterdam is great). It’s so funny when Dre says “You should listen to this song in my headphones”. Just shameless promotion. Hilarious

    also like to point out how surreal it is to hear Drake on diced pineapples, it’s literally a completely different person than the guy we know now.
