May 24, 2023 Almost everything he dropped between 2011-2017 sounded like s--- to me. That's a long, long time. Some of Kamikaze and Side A/B was a step in the right direction though. It was the best he sounded in a while (the production helped). But unfortunately Side A/B was littered with silly puns and dad jokes. Needs to go back to story telling/witty humour without the excessive use of double/triple entendres. It became tiresome very quickly.
May 24, 2023 Eminems tiresome formula of every album needs a little bit of something philosophy has hurt all his albums since Emshow. The fact he is still balancing albums like Kamikaze still, that is way shorter and doesn’t need to be, says it all. He is still adding X and Y songs because he thinks the album needs it. Three love songs and a soundtrack song on Kami, for an 11 song album, is insane. In his obsession of balancing albums, it sounds like filler and hurts the overall quality of his albums. I can’t see him ever changing his formula, so it will always be like the way it is now.
May 24, 2023 If it’s good and done right, why not? Lot of views and political standpoints I don’t agree with him on. But if it’s a good song, then he can say what ever he likes. No Regrets he apologises to Tyler and Earl which I don’t agree with, still a very good song. That’s what matters, not his personal views on s---. Music is what you should judge an artist on.
May 24, 2023 I think it’s his label that he succumbs to easily when it comes to selling out, lots of mouths to feed. Rap God was a great example of doing something original & turning it into a hit organically, but instead of recognising that’s the reason, he seems to think “oh it’s because I rapped fast now that’s what everyone wants to hear” — same with the LTWYL formula etc lol
May 24, 2023 Even if we put Revival aside, just discussing Kami and MTBMB A and B.. i think they all sound great.. i have no problem with puns and dadjokes.. i find them funny.. i love double entendres, wordplay and syllables… most of those 2-3 albums is sonically pleasing as well..
May 24, 2023 I personally feel that’s his formula for making his albums. Has been since day 1. His last two albums, he has been independent basically, only uses the label for distribution, which means they have no involvement in the process of his music. I think you could have Eminem be fully independent at this point with full creative control with no outside influences like Paul etc and he will still come up with an album that has a little bit of everything to it. Record 192929 songs, to then pick the best out of the bunch, as he feels that’s how you should make an album.
May 24, 2023 Yeah you’re probably right, label will just be a way to add a pop star onto a Skylar Grey hook. He’s probably just uninspired as an artist & relied on outside forces (Bass Brothers/Proof/Dre etc) early on. Makes sense really that he’s just a great rapper & not really anything more. Which is all the more reason he should work with more people in person than be a hermit.

May 24, 2023 That’s how it feels for years now. Great rapper that feels uninspired. Only shows glimpses that he is capable of much more like Darkness, which shows he can do it. I’m guessing he has come at a cross roads, hence the lack of features and music. Hopefully he works it out, comes out with a new sound, concepts and something that is interesting.

May 24, 2023 Dude needs to take his albums more seriously. He can’t be saying dumb s--- on every song and then have whole funny songs added. Need a last classic before he fully retires Dude needs a quality control team so bad, cause the one he has is terrified to tell him the truth about some of these songs.
